British climate technology firm Levidian and Kanoo Energy from Saudi Arabia and the UAE have formed a partnership to drive decarbonisation projects in the Middle East. The collaboration, announced at the ADIPEC, will focus on exploring and executing projects in several Middle Eastern countries, with Kanoo serving as the dedicated partner for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. Levidian's patented LOOP system, designed to capture carbon from methane emissions, provides heavy emitters with a pathway to decarbonize gas and produce clean hydrogen and graphene. The produced graphene offers efficiency enhancements for industries like steel, batteries, and petrochemicals, while the hydrogen can be used in various applications from fuel cells to energy generation. Both companies emphasize the importance of decarbonization and aim to support the region's transition towards a greener future. Ongoing projects include collaborating with ADNOC to deploy the LOOP system at a gas processing plant in Abu Dhabi. Levidian also plans to implement a pilot project at a landfill site in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Tadweer. The collaboration between Levidian and Kanoo Energy aims to address methane emissions and accelerate decarbonisation efforts in the region, aligning with global initiatives like COP summits.
