Norwegian Hydrogen has achieved a significant milestone by producing its first molecules of green hydrogen at its 1.3 tonne-per-day hydrogen hub in Hellesylt, Norway. The plant, located in the picturesque setting of the UNESCO World Heritage Geiranger Fjord, is utilizing renewable energy sources from hydropower stations in the region, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability. As the company enters the final commissioning and testing phase, it aims to optimize the facility through rigorous testing before scaling up production. The green hydrogen produced in Hellesylt is planned to be supplied to key partners such as construction firm Veidekke, EV charging company Cyan Energy, and maritime developer Skulebas. Additionally, the hub will include a hydrogen refuelling station constructed by Norwegian Hydrogen's subsidiary, Vireon, to support the growing demand for hydrogen in various sectors. With full commercial operations expected to commence in the near future, Norwegian Hydrogen has attracted significant investments from global industry players like Mitsui & Co. and Fortescue, showcasing confidence in the company's green technology initiatives and business expansion plans.
