Sembcorp Industries has entered into two significant non-binding Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Government of Odisha to explore the establishment of a green hydrogen production facility and an industrial park in the state. The agreements were signed by Sembcorp's subsidiaries in collaboration with key Odisha government entities. The first MoU involves Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Limited (SGHIPL) assessing the feasibility of building a green hydrogen facility in Odisha with a proposed annual capacity of 720,000 metric tonnes, potentially leading to the creation of over 2,000 jobs. The second MoU focuses on the potential development of an industrial park to drive industrial growth in Odisha, with collaboration between Sembcorp Development Limited and the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation. In addition, the Odisha government has approved seven renewable energy projects with a total investment of ₹13.86 billion, collectively providing a capacity of 192.41 MW. These projects, endorsed by the energy department's single-window committee, aim to enhance Odisha's sustainable energy ecosystem and contribute to the state's economic development and infrastructure.
