Hong Kong-based private equity firm Templewater has joined forces with the Middle East to explore investment opportunities fueled by the region's energy transition initiatives. Partnering with the Future Fund Oman, a 2 billion Omani rial investment fund backed by Oman Investment Authority (OIA), Templewater is focusing on energy transition and localization prospects. Yufeng Wan, Templewater's partner and head of decarbonization investment, highlighted their commitment to driving economic value while supporting the region's net-zero emission and economic diversification targets. The partnership aims to leverage sectors like tourism, industry, green energy, ICT, ports, mining, fisheries, and agriculture for sustainable investments.
Templewater's subsidiary, Wisdom Motor, a provider of zero-emission commercial vehicles, aims to establish a strong presence in GCC countries. By signing agreements with OIA, which oversees assets worth US$50 billion, Wisdom Motor is poised to invest in green transport solutions. Additionally, the company plans to introduce customized hydrogen-powered vehicles in the UAE, aligning with the region's decarbonization agenda.
