Thyssenkrupp Nucera AG & Co. KGaA and Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to investigate the potential of green hydrogen in Oman. This partnership aims to establish local assembly and service facilities for water electrolyzers, thereby enhancing Thyssenkrupp Nucera's footprint in the Middle East region. The signing of the MoU was attended by Oman's Minister of Energy and Minerals, Salim Nasser Al Aufi. Hydrom, recognized as Oman's driver of the green hydrogen strategy, has dedicated a significant area of land measuring over 2,300 square kilometers for hydrogen production, with the objective of fostering a sustainable economy consistent with Oman's Vision 2040, which includes a commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Oman's advantageous geographical location and existing infrastructure further solidify its standing as a pioneer in the worldwide hydrogen market, with ambitions to emerge as a prominent center for green hydrogen production.
