Prime Minister Albanese and Prime Minister Modi announced the launch of the India-Australia Renewable Energy Partnership at the Australia-India Annual Summit in Brazil. This partnership signifies a significant step in the cooperation between India and Australia in the realm of climate and energy. The collaboration encompasses 8 key areas such as solar PV, green hydrogen, energy storage, circular economy for renewable energy, among others. Joint projects on solar PV and green hydrogen are already underway, while the partnership will further be elaborated through a new 1.5 Track Dialogue to identify areas of mutual interest. The focus of the partnership extends to building a future renewable workforce through skills and training, as well as leading in the commercialization of advanced renewable technologies. Both countries are dedicated to capitalizing on the economic possibilities presented by the transition to net zero emissions. The joint efforts between India and Australia aim to translate their renewable energy ambitions into practical outcomes, emphasizing sustainability and cooperation in the pursuit of a cleaner and more efficient energy future.
