OXCCU has unveiled the OX1 demonstration plant at London Oxford Airport, heralding a new era in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production. The plant, utilizing a groundbreaking single-step process, directly converts CO2 and hydrogen into high-quality SAFs named OX FUEL. It is projected to generate 1kg of liquid fuel daily upon its commencement in September 2024, positioning it as a trailblazer in the industry. This innovative approach aims to streamline the production of SAFs by eliminating the need to first convert CO2 to CO, thereby reducing costs and overcoming a major hurdle for SAF adoption. The successful operation of the OX1 plant is crucial in gathering essential data for the development and operation of the planned OX2 facility, scheduled to come online in 2026 at Saltend Chemical Park Hull. By scaling up production to 160kg per day, OXCCU aims to significantly contribute to meeting the aviation industry's decarbonization goals.
