Dragon Oil, a company wholly owned by the Government of Dubai, recently opened its regional office in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, which is the largest branch outside the UAE. The inauguration of this office represents over 25 years of presence in Turkmenistan and signifies a new phase of productive cooperation with the country. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors, highlighted the strategic partnership with Turkmenistan, emphasizing its significance due to the country's rich oil and gas reserves. Dragon Oil has ambitious plans to increase its total production from 180,000 to 250,000 barrels per day by 2025, with a specific focus on the Turkmen market. The company expressed keen interest in expanding into the blue hydrogen industry by 2029 and intends to elevate its investments to enhance oil production capacity in Turkmenistan. The new regional office, located in the heart of Ashgabat, covers an expansive area of 1,600 square meters and accommodates more than 60 employees spread across 15 different departments. The presence of senior officials from Dragon Oil and the local employees at the inauguration ceremony exemplifies the commitment to growth and collaboration in Turkmenistan. This development sets a solid foundation for future partnerships and business opportunities in the energy sector.
