The Andhra Pradesh integrated clean energy (ICE) policy-2024, recently announced, outlines a massive investment plan of Rs 10 lakh crore aiming to revolutionize the clean energy sector in the state. Special chief secretary K Vijayanand emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to realize the policy's objectives and contribute to India's economic self-reliance goal. The policy envisions generating an impressive revenue of Rs 67,000 crore in the next five years while creating a robust framework to attract investments, promote local employment, and ensure sustainable resource utilization. With ambitious targets set for solar and wind energy production, green hydrogen, ethanol, and clean tech manufacturing, the ICE policy-2024 aligns with the state government's commitment to achieving net zero by 2047. Various initiatives like solar rooftop installations, solar pump sets, battery energy storage systems, public charging stations, and clean tech manufacturing units underpin the comprehensive approach of the new policy towards fostering renewable energy sources and economic growth through clean technology.
