Clariant AG, a specialty chemical company based in Muttenz, Switzerland, announced the selection of its EnviCat Green catalyst for a significant green ammonia project in China. The catalyst will be utilized to eliminate trace oxygen from green hydrogen before its conversion into green ammonia, reducing the environmental impact and supporting essential applications such as fertilizer production. With a focus on sustainability and decarbonization, the project aims to contribute to the global energy transition by leveraging green ammonia in various sectors. The EnviCat Green catalyst's high gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) allows for efficient deoxygenation processes, leading to cost savings for producers in terms of equipment and operational expenses. Additionally, the catalyst offers the capability to remove oxygen impurities to extremely low levels, ensuring the production of high-purity hydrogen crucial for future energy applications.
