The Indian Government has recently awarded subsidies to nine companies for green hydrogen production projects, demonstrating a significant commitment to renewable energy initiatives. Among the recipients, AM Green Ammonia and Waaree Clean Energy Solutions received substantial support. The allocated funds aim to facilitate the production of 450,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Programme, a notable step towards achieving carbon neutrality and promoting sustainability. The Incentive Scheme for Green Hydrogen Production, with its structured incentives over three years, further encourages the growth of the green hydrogen sector in India. India's second hydrogen auction witnessed strong participation, with 14 bids for 625,500 tonnes, indicating a growing interest in green hydrogen projects. The program's subsidy structure, with decreasing caps over three years, aims to incentivize producers while ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Notably, the industry's momentum has been recognized by Shri Hardeep Puri, who emphasized India's green hydrogen potential and the rapid industry growth observed since the introduction of the National Hydrogen Mission.
