India is poised to lead the global green energy revolution with an ambitious plan to have an installed electrolyser manufacturing capacity of up to 100 GW by 2030. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi highlighted the country's potential as a major driver for green energy growth during the inauguration of a private company's electrolyser manufacturing facility in Doddaballapur, Karnataka. The Minister emphasized the pivotal role of green hydrogen in decarbonizing crucial sectors such as transportation, steel manufacturing, and heavy industry. He mentioned that green hydrogen could power vehicles, fuel factories, and provide energy to households, all while minimizing the carbon footprint. Joshi's remarks underscored the government's commitment to sustainable practices, with a target of achieving 5 million metric tonne of installed green hydrogen mission capacity. Additionally, he praised the significant progress made in renewable energy under the leadership of the Prime Minister, noting the substantial increase in solar power capacity from 3 GW to over 85 GW and wind power capacity from 21 GW to more than 46 GW. This growth signifies India's dedication to advancing its renewable energy sector and establishing itself as a key player in the global transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
