ITM Power has signed a contract to supply 20MW of PEM electrolyser units for Greenstat's Hydrogen Hub Agder in Fiskå, Norway. The project will involve the installation of four 5MW containerised Neptune V plants, which are set to commence production of green hydrogen for the maritime sector by late 2026. Additionally, there are plans to expand the site with an extra 40MW of electrolysis capacity starting in 2027. The project received financial support from the Norwegian Government, amounting to NOK 138m ($12.2m), representing a significant portion of the total investment. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Greenstat, a subsidiary of La Française de l’Energie (FDE), which took over the project from Everfuel. ITM Power's CEO, Dennis Schulz, sees the Nordics as a promising market for green hydrogen, with the company's third Neptune V contract highlighting the growth potential. Schulz remains positive about the momentum in final investment decisions for green hydrogen, projecting a potential turning point in 2025. Despite challenges faced by some projects in 2024, Schulz expresses confidence in the continued momentum for green hydrogen, particularly in the 5-30MW range. With impressive revenue growth and a strengthened order backlog, ITM Power believes it is prepared to meet the rising demand for hydrogen technology, driven by operational improvements and cost reductions.
