Lhyfe Partners with H2 Mobility Deutschland for Green Hydrogen Supply in Germany
Key Ideas
  • Lhyfe and H2 Mobility Deutschland have signed a five-year offtake agreement for the supply of 1,200 tonnes of green hydrogen to refuelling stations in Germany.
  • The hydrogen will be initially supplied to stations in Baden-Württemburg and Rhineland-Palatine, with plans to expand to other sites.
  • H2 Mobility aims to offer entirely green hydrogen across its network by 2028, with Lhyfe producing the green hydrogen at its plant in Schwäbish Gmünd.
  • The deal signifies a significant step towards decarbonization in the transport sector, with the first hydrogen refuelling stations set to provide green hydrogen from 2025 onwards.
Lhyfe has entered into a strategic partnership with H2 Mobility Deutschland to supply 1,200 tonnes of green hydrogen to refuelling stations in Germany over a five-year period. Initially targeting four stations in Baden-Württemburg and Rhineland-Palatine, the green hydrogen will be transported via tube trailers to sites in Ludswigshafen and Frankenthal. H2 Mobility currently operates around 80 public refuelling stations in Germany, with plans to transition to entirely green hydrogen by 2028. The green hydrogen will be produced at Lhyfe's plant in Schwäbish Gmünd, meeting the EU's renewable fuels criteria. The construction of the plant is underway and is expected to be operational by the second half of 2024. This partnership marks a significant milestone for both companies, with H2 Mobility emphasizing the importance of green hydrogen in decarbonizing the transport sector. The agreement will enable the first hydrogen refuelling stations to offer green hydrogen starting in 2025, contributing to a more environmentally sustainable mobility sector.
