Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has achieved a remarkable milestone in its Wind Hunter project by successfully supplying green hydrogen produced from offshore wind onboard a demonstration yacht for use on shore. The green hydrogen, produced using the demonstration yacht Winz Maru, was delivered onshore in Tokyo's central breakwater area as part of the Wind Hunter Project, aimed at zero emissions through the synergy of wind power and hydrogen. This groundbreaking achievement signifies the first time a ship has provided green hydrogen, generated while the vessel was in motion, for onshore applications. The project highlights the innovative potential of green hydrogen derived from offshore wind as a catalyst for a sustainable energy transition, showcasing a promising pathway towards a greener future.
