NTPC Green Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has joined forces with the state of Andhra Pradesh in India to spearhead groundbreaking renewable energy projects worth a staggering ₹2 lakh crore. This ambitious collaboration includes the development of 25 GW of solar, wind, and hybrid energy, alongside 10 GW of pumped hydro storage, and an impressive 0.5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen production annually. As per Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's announcement, this initiative is projected to create 106,000 employment opportunities and deliver financial gains of ₹20,620 crore over a span of 25 years. Furthermore, Andhra Pradesh's Integrate Clean Energy Policy outlines an aggressive target of achieving 78.50 GW of solar energy, 35 GW of wind energy, 22 GW of hydro storage, and 1.5 MMTPA of green hydrogen production within a concise five-year timeframe. In line with this vision, NTPC Green Energy is set to inject a massive ₹1.85 lakh crore into establishing a cutting-edge green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka. This hub is designed to produce an impressive 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen daily, with a strategic emphasis on fostering global partnerships. The initial phase of this transformative joint venture is slated for completion by May 2027, underlining a significant leap towards sustainable and eco-friendly energy practices.
