NYK has reached a basic agreement with Kyushu Electric Power Company, Sojitz Corporation, and Sembcorp Green Hydrogen Pte. Ltd. for the marine transport of green ammonia to Japan. This collaboration aims to produce approximately 200,000 metric tons of green ammonia annually in India, leveraging the country's renewable energy resources. The project targets industrial customers in Japan, particularly in the Kyushu region. NYK's role in the initiative is to utilize its expertise in marine transport to ensure the efficient delivery of green ammonia. Green ammonia is produced using renewable energy sources and is seen as a crucial energy resource in achieving a decarbonized society due to its zero CO2 emissions during production and combustion. This project aligns with NYK's long-term strategy focusing on ESG principles and sustainable growth. The signing ceremony held in Delhi, India, marked a significant step towards promoting next-generation energy solutions.
