Sembcorp Green Hydrogen Pte. Ltd., under Sembcorp Industries in Singapore, has formed a partnership with Sojitz Corp. and Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. from Japan for the off-take of green ammonia from India. This collaboration builds upon a preliminary agreement made in December to explore supplying green ammonia to Japan. The announcement was made at the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum, with representatives from Japan, Singapore, and India present. Sembcorp has acquired land in India for the necessary facilities following feasibility studies, with plans to secure an engineering design award. The project aims to produce 200,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually in India using renewable energy. With a significant renewable energy portfolio in India and a global energy capacity of 21.2 GW, Sembcorp is a key player in sustainable energy development.
