Tata Motors has commenced trials for hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in India, a significant step facilitated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's support under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The 24-month trial involves deploying 16 advanced hydrogen vehicles with various technologies on major freight routes across India. Indian Oil Corp. Ltd (IOCL) is facilitating the transition by establishing hydrogen refueling stations in key locations. Globally, companies like Plug Power, Sunfire, P2X Solutions, Bosch, Metacon, and Repco are actively investing in green hydrogen projects, highlighting the sector's growth. The success of these trials could lead to a broader integration of hydrogen-powered vehicles in India, aligning with the nation's sustainability objectives.
