Cobra IS, a subsidiary of VINCI, has been awarded a €74 million contract by SMS Group GmbH to undertake piping and mechanical works for a section of Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe's steel production plant in Duisburg, Germany. This plant, with a capacity of 2.5 million tonnes of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) annually, will be the first in Germany to operate entirely on green hydrogen. By using green hydrogen, the plant aims to avoid approximately 3.5 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year, contributing significantly to reducing its environmental impact.
