AFC Energy has introduced its enhanced 2nd Generation H-Power S+ 200kW generator, representing a significant leap in hydrogen power technology tailored for construction and off-grid power applications. This new model, developed with ABB's support, improves on its predecessor by being 34% smaller, 28% lighter, and 65% cheaper. These enhancements aim to lower barriers to adoption and facilitate deployment across various settings. The generator's readiness for immediate field deployment is underscored by its qualification for the Red Diesel Replacement Grant. The first deployment will occur at a Brett Aggregates site, where it will power facility operations, showcasing its practical application. AFC Energy's initiative aligns with the Red Diesel Replacement programme, part of the UK's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero efforts, leveraging funding from the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio to drive the commercialization of clean energy solutions. This advancement contributes significantly to the UK's net-zero targets by fostering the uptake of innovative technologies in sectors like construction, mining, and quarrying.
