Ballard Power Systems has announced a significant achievement in securing a multi-year supply agreement with Egyptian bus and truck producer Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles (MCV) for fuel cell engines totaling 5MW. The Canadian firm will initially provide 35 out of 50 FCmove-HD+ engine units to MCV under this agreement, further solidifying their partnership that commenced in 2022. Anticipated for this year or the next, the full delivery of all 50 fuel cell engines will support projects primarily in the EU. Oben Uluc, the Vice-President for Europe Sales & Marketing at Ballard, shared that in 2024, they received 1,600 bus engine orders from seven OEMs. Uluc expressed enthusiasm for the ongoing momentum in 2025 driven by the new agreement. Ballard looks forward to utilizing their fuel cell engines in the evolving fuel cell bus market to contribute to decarbonizing public transit on a global scale.
