Gen2 Energy, a Norwegian company, has partnered with Farsund municipality to establish a new green hydrogen production facility in Lundevågen, Farsund. The agreement allows Gen2 Energy to secure the industrial site for long-term hydrogen production and access to quay facilities for transportation. The company is commencing work on preparing the area for hydrogen production, with a concept study ongoing to determine the plant's size and production methods. Jan Fredrik Råknes, Head of Business Development at Gen2 Energy, expressed satisfaction with choosing Farsund, citing factors like renewable energy availability and shipping opportunities. Ingrid Williamsen, the Mayor of Farsund, also welcomed the partnership, anticipating the progress ahead. Gen2 Energy already has hydrogen production projects in Mosjøen and Åfjord, with plans to export hydrogen from these locations. The company's expansion in Farsund marks another step in its commitment to green hydrogen production in Norway.
