Hyzon and GreenWaste have initiated a pioneering partnership to introduce the first 12 hydrogen-powered refuse Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) in North America. This collaboration signifies a significant leap towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the waste industry. Hyzon, a U.S.-based hydrogen fuel cell system manufacturer, has begun production of its 200-kilowatt fuel cell system, enabling the mass production of standardized systems for commercial sale. The CEO of Hyzon, Parker Meeks, highlighted the importance of the partnership with GreenWaste in revolutionizing trucking operations by offering high-performance hydrogen fuel cells for refuse collection vehicles. The hydrogen-powered FCEVs promise zero tailpipe emissions, aligning with GreenWaste's goal to reduce total combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030.
