The motorcycle, part of Kawasaki's research since March 2023, utilized a hydrogen engine based on their Ninja H2 model, with adaptations for hydrogen fuel injection. Designed with a chassis to support hydrogen canisters and a fuel supply system onboard, the hydrogen ICE motorcycle provides riders with a unique experience of hydrogen combustion while emitting mainly water and minimal CO2. Kawasaki's carbon-neutral initiative aims to introduce hydrogen-powered motorcycles as an eco-friendly option for riders in the early 2030s, subject to hydrogen infrastructure development and legal regulations globally. Kawasaki Motors is actively involved in HySE, a hydrogen technology research association, focusing on developing hydrogen engines and fuel systems for small mobility vehicles like motorcycles.
