South Korea and the Czech Republic engaged in a high-level bilateral supply chain and energy dialogue in Seoul aimed at enhancing cooperation in trade, eco-friendly energy, and nuclear power plants. Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun and Czech Minister Lukas Vlcek discussed expanding collaboration in various sectors, including advanced industries and carbon-free energy. The discussions included progress on negotiations for a South Korean consortium to construct two nuclear plants in the Czech Republic, with both sides expressing optimism about reaching a final agreement soon. The Dukovany nuclear power plant project, which represents a significant investment for the Czech Republic, was a focal point of the meeting, highlighting the potential for strengthening bilateral relations. The ministers also explored joint research and development projects in the nuclear energy sector, as well as cooperation in areas such as battery technology, future mobility, and robotics. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed to facilitate collaboration in the semiconductor industry and the development of clean hydrogen energy technologies. The two countries also jointly hosted a business conference to encourage bilateral investment, marking key milestones in their diplomatic relations and strategic partnership.
