Both Germany and the EU are committed to the Climate Goals of Paris and recognize the role of hydrogen in decarbonizing various sectors. Germany and the EU are working on implementing enabling measures to advance hydrogen projects and address legislative complexities to drive more investments. The European Commission's Innovation Fund is already supporting numerous hydrogen projects financially, with plans for more funding and a matchmaking mechanism in the future. The industry is advocating for more regulatory clarity, funding access, technology-inclusive approaches, and market support to boost the hydrogen sector. The Hydrogen Council, a global CEO-led initiative, comprising 140 companies from 20 countries, is playing a crucial role in promoting hydrogen as a clean energy source. The Council aims to foster innovation, create jobs, and deliver social value through the deployment of hydrogen ecosystems worldwide. With a focus on collaboration between industry, governments, investors, and civil society, the Hydrogen Council is working towards establishing international safety and sustainability standards for reliable hydrogen solutions at scale.
