Professor Pratik N Sheth from BITS Pilani delivered a talk at CSIR-Neeri in Nagpur on National Science Day, emphasizing various hydrogen production processes including grey, blue, turquoise, and green hydrogen. Dr. Sheth particularly discussed biomass-based hydrogen, highlighting its significance as green hydrogen. He elaborated on thermochemical routes for hydrogen production from biomass, showcasing successful bio-oil production from jatropha residue cake. Dr. Sheth also discussed the role of biomass gasification in supporting the National Green Hydrogen Mission and Waste to Energy program in India. Additionally, he presented RDF gasification as a method to convert solid and industrial waste into syngas, advocating for green hydrogen production from agro-residue for sustainable energy. The event also featured MP Patil and Prakash Kumbhare from CSIR-Neeri, who discussed the institute's initiatives aligned with National Science Day's theme. 200 students from Neeri Modern School and GH Raisoni College of Engineering & Management participated, engaging in R&D activities and interacting with scientists in the laboratories.
