Italian startup Hybitat Srl, a part of Italy's SIT Group, has launched an innovative hydrogen production and storage system tailored for surplus solar power in residential and commercial environments. The system comprises a main unit with advanced technologies like an electrolyzer, fuel cell, DC/DC converter, and more, alongside a storage unit with a 3 kg hydrogen capacity and 100 kWh energy capacity. This eco-friendly solution aims to provide sustainable energy for individual housing units, energy communities, low-energy businesses, and public buildings. The first system sale of 200 kWh energy capacity has been finalized and is scheduled for installation in 2025. The system utilizes excess solar power to produce hydrogen, which can be converted back into electricity or used directly for various purposes. Additionally, bigger versions of the product are available for larger buildings and apartment complexes. Hybitat Srl's spokesperson mentioned that the system has passed validation for European standards, ensuring compliance with the Machinery Directive. This development signifies a step forward in green technology and renewable energy solutions, catering to the growing need for sustainable and efficient energy systems.
