3t Training Services in the UK has secured a significant £1.5 million contract to provide fully funded 'Green Skills Bootcamps' for residents of South Tyneside. Supported by South Tyneside Council and the Department of Education under the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, the initiative targets individuals aged 20 and over with a South Tyneside postcode. The bootcamps will offer training for onshore and offshore roles in wind, carbon capture, and hydrogen industries, including positions like wind technician and offshore engineering technician. The programs, lasting four-to-five weeks, will take place at 3t's advanced training centers in Newcastle and Teesside and will also offer guaranteed job interviews with potential employers. Charlie Guthrie, head of renewables at 3t, emphasized the importance of equipping South Tyneside with essential skills to boost employment and contribute to the energy transition. The initiative aligns with the UK's shift towards cleaner power and the growing demand for skilled workers in the renewable energy sector. By providing free training opportunities and collaborating with businesses in the region, the program aims to support the UK's net-zero goals and open up new career paths for South Tyneside residents. Limited places are available, and interested individuals can contact greenskills@3tglobal.com for more information on how to apply.
