In a groundbreaking move for sustainable transport, the Sogestran Group introduced France's first hydrogen-powered river vessel, the ZULU 06, on the Seine in Paris. With Valérie Bouillon-Delporte as the godmother of the vessel, the launch signifies a significant technical and regulatory milestone. The event was honored by the presence of the French Minister of Transport, François Durovray, highlighting the vessel's importance in driving the country's energy transition. The ZULU 06, powered by 200 kW hydrogen fuel cells and designed for urban logistics challenges, has a cargo capacity of 400 tons and operates with 300 kg of compressed hydrogen for seven days. This initiative, developed within the FLAGSHIPS project, showcases the collaborative efforts of 11 European partners to achieve zero-emission waterborne transport. The successful deployment of the ZULU 06 emphasizes the EU's pivotal role in advancing hydrogen technologies and promoting cleaner energy solutions for a more sustainable future.
