The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has launched a new scholarship scheme for students from ECOWAS states pursuing an International Master's Degree in Energy and Green Hydrogen Technology. Partnering with Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH and RWTH Aachen University in Germany and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the 24-month program aims to train professionals capable of addressing the energy crisis in West Africa. The program includes specializations in various universities across West Africa, covering areas like Bioenergy, Green Hydrogen Production, Photovoltaic Systems, and Economics. Eligible students with backgrounds in Physics, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related fields can apply. Scholarship recipients will benefit from full funding, travel expenses, and advanced training in renewable energy and green hydrogen technology. The initiative seeks to boost the energy technology sector in West Africa and guide policy formulation, particularly focusing on green hydrogen technology.
