Doosan Bobcat, the pioneer in commercializing hydrogen forklifts in South Korea, showcases its commitment to expanding hydrogen mobility through a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with Gwangyang City and Korea Logis Pool (KLP). The tripartite agreement aims to accelerate the 'Gwangyang Hydrogen City Project,' focusing on enhancing the supply of hydrogen forklifts in the region. Gwangyang City will support the initiative by facilitating administrative permits, infrastructure construction, and operations. Doosan Bobcat will play a crucial role in supply management, demand generation, and conducting hydrogen charging demonstrations. KLP, the largest forklift rental and logistics company in the country, plans to deploy Doosan Bobcat's hydrogen forklifts at key logistics centers in the Gwangyang Port area and introduce rental services for these eco-friendly forklifts. The project aligns with the government's carbon-neutral objectives and the promotion of the hydrogen economy. Notably, Doosan Bobcat's efforts go beyond supply expansion; the company has delivered the first domestically produced hydrogen forklift in South Korea and secured approval for establishing dedicated hydrogen refueling stations. By receiving regulatory exemptions and planning fixed and mobile hydrogen refueling station demonstrations, Doosan Bobcat aims to overcome current limitations and promote hydrogen forklift usage effectively.
