Green Hydrogen Production Project in Inner Mongolia Marks Milestone Achievement
Key Ideas
  • The 250 MW PV hydrogen production project in Inner Mongolia passed special acceptance, obtained necessary licenses, and has operational capabilities for hydrogen filling and sales.
  • Utilizing new energy PV power generation and alkaline water electrolysis technology, the project has an annual hydrogen production capacity of over 6,700 mt with excellent purity levels.
  • The project's significance lies in energy-saving and emission-reduction effects, replacing standard coal consumption, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and promoting renewable energy consumption targets in Ordos City.
  • With a total investment of 1.62 billion yuan, the project aims to contribute to high-quality economic development, improve people's livelihoods, and expand employment opportunities in the region.
The 250 MW PV hydrogen production project of Shenzhen Energy Group Beikong Company in Inner Mongolia recently achieved a significant milestone by passing special acceptance and obtaining a mobile pressure vessel filling license. This project, located in the Otog Front Banner of Ordos City, is part of the first batch of wind and solar power hydrogen production demonstration projects in the region. It utilizes new energy PV power generation and alkaline water electrolysis technology to produce green hydrogen, with an annual capacity exceeding 6,700 mt and excellent purity levels. The project includes a PV power station, a water electrolysis hydrogen production plant, and supporting facilities. With a total investment of 1.62 billion yuan, the project aims to address dual controls on energy consumption and intensity, reduce carbon emissions, and promote renewable energy consumption targets. The operationalization of this project is expected to have a positive impact on energy sustainability, economic development, and environmental conservation in the region.
