The Himachal Pradesh government has signed an agreement with Spray Engineering Devices Limited to establish a Rs 1,400 crore integrated manufacturing facility in Solan district. This facility will produce active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), green hydrogen, and ethanol, offering employment opportunities for 1,000 young individuals. The Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) was signed to set up India's first integrated manufacturing facility of API, green hydrogen, and 2G ethanol BBN. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu aims to make the state a green energy leader by 2026 and has initiated various projects towards this goal. The government is also collaborating with Oil India Limited to set up a 1 MW green hydrogen plant in the region. The project is expected to initially require 30 MW of green hydrogen, with plans to increase to 50 MW in the future. The Chief Minister has urged the company to complete the project within a year, emphasizing the state's commitment to becoming a pioneer in green energy in India.
