Pansar Bhd, a Malaysia-based company, has successfully secured a RM804.7 million contract for the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) Blue-Line Package 2 in Sarawak. The contract, awarded to Pansar's subsidiary Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd (PESB) in partnership with China Road & Bridge Corporation (CBRC), involves the construction of infrastructure and associated works for the KUTS Blue Line. Spanning from Stutong to Hikmah Exchange, the project encompasses architectural design, mechanical and electrical works, as well as roadworks, viaduct construction, and utilities protection. The KUTS project aims to enhance Kuching's urban transportation system by providing green and efficient public transport services. Notably, this initiative will introduce Malaysia's first hydrogen-powered urban transportation system, highlighting Sarawak's dedication to green energy and environmental sustainability. The joint venture between PESB and CRBC, formed to execute the project, is expected to have a significant positive impact on Pansar's future financial performance, surpassing its current market capitalization. Despite a slight decrease in net profit for the first quarter of the fiscal year, Pansar remains financially stable with substantial deposits and short-term borrowings. With this lucrative contract and the focus on sustainable development, Pansar is set to play a key role in transforming Kuching into a more dynamic and competitive city.
