Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd's hydrogen-powered buses in Kuching have recommenced their trial operation service after completing maintenance works. This initiative, initiated in 2020, aims to gather knowledge and create awareness about hydrogen mobility in the city. The CEO highlighted the buses' role in sustainable public transportation, serving over 60,000 passengers and increasing awareness of clean energy solutions. Data collected during the trial is crucial for optimizing the design of future hydrogen buses supporting the Kuching Urban Transportation System. The current buses operate on two routes free of charge, facilitating city center and Damai Central travel. Sarawak Metro's commitment to hydrogen technology has attracted interest from various organizations, contributing to Sarawak's goal of transforming public transport.
