Ashoka Buildcon has announced its plans to invest Rs 9,000 crore in Bihar for a green hydrogen production plant. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government to kickstart the project. The plant, to be located in Begusarai, will be powered by a 1,250 MW solar project in its first phase. The completion of this phase is expected to take 1.5 to two years from the date of receiving all necessary approvals. Subsequent phases will follow thereafter. Ashoka Buildcon aims to leverage clean electricity from the solar project to produce green hydrogen by electrolyzing water. This initiative was disclosed during the Bihar Business Connect 2024 event. Ashoka Buildcon, known for its expertise in highway construction, power distribution, and solar projects, is venturing into the green hydrogen sector as part of its commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.
