In a move to boost economic growth and attract foreign direct investment to Egypt, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and the Egyptian Commercial Service Authority have signed a cooperation protocol. The protocol aims to enhance investment opportunities, improve industrial output, create jobs, and increase export levels in Egypt. The Chairman of SCZone, Walid Gamal El-Din, highlighted the importance of the agreement in line with Egypt's strategy to attract foreign investments and provide support to investors. El-Din emphasized the significance of establishing a favorable investment environment and the need for collaborative government efforts to achieve this goal. He also underlined the role of SCZone in promoting its strategic location, industrial zones, logistics infrastructure, and ports to create an appealing investment climate. The collaboration with the Egyptian Commercial Services Authority is expected to strengthen efforts targeting 21 industrial and service sectors, including energy, green hydrogen, textiles, engineering products, and ammonia production. Notably, the partnership has already secured major international investments in green hydrogen, with agreements in place with European, Chinese, Turkish, and engineering companies for various projects in the SCZone.
