The Essar Group, under Essar Future Energy, is embarking on an ambitious journey towards sustainable energy solutions with investments totaling Rs 30,000 crore over the next four years. The cornerstone of this initiative is the establishment of a green hydrogen plant in Jamnagar, Gujarat, showcasing Essar's commitment to green hydrogen production. This project aims to develop significant hydrogen capacity and green molecules using a substantial renewable energy capacity sourced from Essar Renewables. Apart from the hydrogen plant, Essar Group is diversifying its sustainable energy portfolio with plans to expand electricity generation to 10,000 MW in the coming years. Furthermore, the conglomerate is prioritizing green mobility by enhancing its LNG and electric truck fleet, thereby contributing to the reduction of emissions in the transportation sector. In addition to these initiatives, Essar is venturing into coal seam gas production in West Bengal and exploring opportunities in shale gas. The group's commitment to decarbonization extends beyond India, with investments earmarked for the UK and Saudi Arabia. Notably, Essar Capital's strategy includes significant investments in decarbonizing the Stanlow refinery in the UK and establishing a green steel plant in Saudi Arabia. These efforts underscore Essar Group's holistic approach towards sustainability and its proactive stance in the global green energy transition.
