The Commerce Secretary of India, Sunil Barthwal, highlighted the immense investment potential of India in clean energy, emphasizing opportunities worth over USD 500 billion by 2030, particularly in renewables, green hydrogen, and electric vehicle infrastructure. This proposition was put forth during the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum in Singapore, where the focus was on mobilizing investments into sustainable infrastructure, climate technology, and renewable energy projects. The IPEF bloc, consisting of 14 countries in the Indo-Pacific region, aims to drive economic and trade growth while addressing clean economy and fair economy principles. The forum witnessed significant participation from financial institutions, venture capital funds, and government agencies, resulting in USD 23 billion investment opportunities for sustainable infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific. The event also saw the launch of the IPEF Catalytic Capital Fund and partnerships with investors to support clean economy projects. Additionally, an agreement was signed for the production and export of green ammonia from India to Japan, aligning with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission to establish the country as a global hub for green hydrogen production. Indian companies and startups were provided with a platform to pitch their innovative ideas to global investors, fostering collaborations and funding opportunities.
