The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) introduced the ArabH2 Hydrogen Energy Development Steering Initiative to advance hydrogen energy in the Arab region. The initiative aims to address challenges in supply chains, promote the integration of hydrogen with renewable energy sources, and facilitate knowledge exchange among Arab countries. Following a seminar on global and Arab hydrogen developments, the initiative focuses on enhancing international cooperation, supporting scientific research and innovation, and building national capabilities. A general coordinator will oversee the implementation of the five main pillars of the initiative, ensuring progress and development in the hydrogen industry. The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and aims to contribute to a more sustainable energy future in the Arab region.
