Renewable energy leader ReNew has announced substantial investments in renewable energy projects and manufacturing facilities in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The commitment includes setting up 40,000 MW of renewable energy generation projects and 6,000 MW of manufacturing capacity for key components. This initiative is part of the company's pledge to increase its renewable energy capacity from 10 GW to 50 GW by 2030, with a significant portion dedicated to storage. The expansion plan is expected to result in the creation of approximately 180,000 job opportunities, contributing to economic growth and sustainability. Additionally, ReNew will invest in producing 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually, leveraging 25 GW of renewable energy to power this initiative. Through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government, ReNew had earlier committed investments in solar and wind projects along with manufacturing facilities for solar components. This strategic move highlights a shift towards green energy solutions and demonstrates ReNew's commitment to sustainable practices. The focus on green hydrogen production aligns with the broader national agenda of promoting clean energy sources and reducing carbon emissions, positioning ReNew as a key player in India's renewable energy sector.
