Air Liquide is set to invest 50 million euros in developing a low-carbon hydrogen ecosystem in Normandy, France. The investment will focus on establishing a new hydrogen packaging and delivery supply chain to refueling stations along the Seine Axis, supporting the growth of low-carbon mobility in the region. The site will be supplied with renewable hydrogen from the Air Liquide Normand’Hy electrolyzer, with a capacity of 200 MW, currently under construction. This move aims to contribute to decarbonizing industry and mobility in Normandy and Ile-de-France. The initiative will cater to the rising number of hydrogen vehicles along the Seine Axis, spanning from Le Havre to Ile-de-France, including hydrogen taxis, corporate fleets, buses, and trucks. Leveraging partnerships like the one with HysetCo, Air Liquide will dedicate a portion of its electrolyzer's capacity to supplying renewable hydrogen for transportation along the Seine Axis. The rest of the production will serve customers in the industrial basin, emphasizing renewable and low carbon hydrogen. This strategic investment reflects Air Liquide's commitment to advancing low-carbon transportation and contributing to the energy transition.
