Hexagon Purus, a manufacturer specializing in zero-emission mobility and infrastructure solutions, has secured a contract with New Flyer to supply hydrogen cylinders for the fifth consecutive year. New Flyer, a subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., is actively promoting zero-emission transportation in North America by deploying hydrogen buses and infrastructure. The partnership involves Hexagon Purus providing its Type 4 hydrogen storage cylinders for New Flyer's Xcelsior CHARGE FC hydrogen fuel cell-electric transit bus, enabling an impressive driving range of over 370 miles on a single refueling. The contract value is estimated at around $6.3 million. Production of these cylinders will occur at Hexagon Purus' facility in Westminster, Maryland, where they have already delivered cylinders for over 200 New Flyer buses since 2020. Executives from both companies express satisfaction with the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of zero-emission solutions in public transportation and the significant role played by New Flyer's advanced hydrogen buses in decarbonization efforts. The cylinders will be progressively delivered throughout 2025, supporting the companies' commitment to sustainable transportation.
