The UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, under the leadership of Minister Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, is actively working on drafting new legislations and policies in collaboration with the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) to enhance the sustainability of hydrogen production. The UAE's ambitious goal of producing 1.4 million metric tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen annually by 2031 showcases the country's commitment to becoming a global leader in renewable energy. Moreover, significant cost reductions in hydrogen production, with costs decreasing by 40 to 50 percent, further enhance the sector's sustainability and production processes.
