Accenture has acquired Boslan, a Spanish company that offers management services for large infrastructure projects, with a focus on supporting the development of net-zero infrastructure projects. Boslan's expertise lies in engineering and overseeing the construction of various components needed for the net-zero transition, such as wind farms, solar power plants, smart grids, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and hydrogen plants. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital technologies into asset lifecycle management, Accenture and Boslan aim to assist clients in optimizing their project investments and achieving carbon-neutrality more efficiently. The specifics of the deal between Accenture and Boslan were not disclosed. However, this acquisition brings over 1,000 engineering and project management professionals to Accenture, primarily located in Spain and Brazil. Boslan also operates in Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Mexico. These professionals will join Accenture's infrastructure and capital projects practice under its digital engineering and manufacturing service, Industry X. Götz Erhardt, who heads Industry X in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Accenture, highlighted the leadership of European energy and utilities companies in transitioning to renewable energy sources and making low-carbon emission power economically viable. The addition of Boslan's engineering and industry expertise is expected to enhance Accenture's ability to assist clients globally in achieving their net-zero goals. This move also positions Accenture as a significant player in infrastructure and capital projects services, offering digital and AI solutions for effective asset lifecycle management. Accenture has been expanding its Industry X division through strategic acquisitions, with Boslan being the latest addition to its portfolio. Previous acquisitions include Advoco, TrueNorth Solutions, Comtech, Anser Advisory, Eclipse Automation, and Pollux.
