The Indian government has launched new scheme guidelines to support the funding of testing facilities, infrastructure, and institutional backing for the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) in New Delhi. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and testing ecosystem in the growing Green Hydrogen industry. With a financial commitment of Rs 200 crore for 2024-26, the scheme intends to identify and address gaps in existing testing infrastructures and promote the development of new facilities meeting stringent standards required for Green Hydrogen and its derivatives. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) released a document emphasizing the importance of creating a robust quality and testing ecosystem aligning with national and international standards. The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) will serve as the Scheme Implementation Agency (SIA), overseeing project application and implementation processes. Financial support will be disbursed in phases, with monitoring by a Project Appraisal Committee to ensure project adherence to the mission's objectives. The government's stringent oversight measures include possible funding cancellation for projects failing to meet specified timelines or goals. The investment in testing infrastructure signifies India's commitment to advancing its capabilities in Green Hydrogen and striving to lead in this crucial sector of the future.
