Infrastructure solutions company Costain has secured the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for a significant hydrogen project in Teesside, UK. The project, commissioned by bp, involves the establishment of a 31km onshore pipeline distribution network to transport purified and dehydrated hydrogen to industrial users. Anticipated to be a major player in the UK's blue hydrogen sector, the facility is projected to produce 160,000 tonnes of low carbon hydrogen annually. Sam White, Costain's Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm for the project's role in advancing UK decarbonisation and fostering positive impacts in Teesside through job creation and skills enhancement.
