Abraxas Power Corp., along with its subsidiary Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation (EVREC), has submitted the Environmental Assessment Registration for its Green Energy Hub project in the Botwood area of Newfoundland, Canada. The project includes a 3.5 GW onshore wind project with energy and molecular storage to power the production of green hydrogen and ammonia for export. EVREC aims to generate up to 200,000 tons of green hydrogen and 1,000,000 tons of green ammonia annually. The project, with a capital investment of CAD$12 billion, is expected to boost the provincial GDP by $7.8 billion over its 34-year lifespan, create high-skilled job opportunities, and contribute significantly to the economy of Newfoundland and Labrador.
